The transfer of families from Bingo, Massingir district, Gaza province, has begun. The move takes place under the resettlement of communities residing in the Limpopo National Park .
At this stage, the process covers 225 families who have been waiting for several years for their transfer to the Chitare region, where residential areas were due to see the arrival of the population and their belongings this week .
The families’ transfer is accompanied by the payment of compensation for the improvements made to land in the conservation area and lost with their departure from the region.
Massingir district administrator Esmeralda Muthemba, who provided the information, said that conditions for the transfer of the population from Bingo to Chitare had been fulfilled, so the government had decided to go ahead with moving the families to their new housing.
