Armed Renamo men attacked the administrative post of Inhamitanga, Cheringoma district, Sofala, yesterday and set light to a vehicle which was at the service of the National Institute of Social Action (INAS), district government spokesman Hélcio Canda has revealed.
The occupants of the vehicle, officials of the Provincial Directorate of Gender, Women and Social Action, were physically assaulted and robbed of their belongings, including Basic Social Subsidy payments for the elderly.
Yesterday’s attack took place in the same area where on Monday men attacked a Vale Mozambique mining company locomotive carrying coal from Moatize to the port of Beira.
