Renamo accused of killing chief of police station in Lulute, Nampula

Nampula provincial police spokesman Zacarias Nacúte has accused Renamo of killing the head of police in the village of Lulute on Thursday.
Nacúte told Radio Moçambique that the station commander was shot dead as he emerged from the station to go home.
“At the time of the shooting, colleagues still at work returned fire. The Renamo men ended up escaping, so it has not been possible to arrest anyone at this point in time. But we have been informed that steps are being taken to apprehend these individuals,” Nacúte said.
