Mozambique's first Minister of Health Helder Martins criticizes strike, but recognizes right
Religious leaders in Sofala province have asked Renamo leader Afonso Dhlakama to hold discussions with President Filipe Nyusi with a view to bolstering peace.
In a message read at a peace march on Saturday, religious leaders condemned the attacks by Renamo in Sofala province.
“For there to be real peace in Mozambique, it is necessary that the people involved in this movement sit, hold discussions and say what they want. There needs to be unity, because this war that we are forced to watch does not make sense.
“We are all brothers and there is no need of bloodshed between us. The Renamo leader must accept the head of state’s invitation, because the president is very concerned about peace,” the speech read.
