Reassigned doctors get apartments in Maputo

Doctors from other provinces who have been reassigned in Maputo already have accommodation guaranteed as a result of the inauguration on Monday of a new building with 36 apartments in the City.
Located in front of Maputo Central Hospital, the six-storey building is a type two apartment intended for health technicians and doctors.
Built in 12 months using a $5 million investment by China, the building was inaugurated on Monday by Health Minister, Nazira Abdula, who highlighted the resources that the new apartments will save.
“With the construction of these apartments, our government will save some of the resources that are currently spent on housing rental, thus allowing us to invest in other areas essential to the National Health Service,” assured Abdula.
Chinese Ambassador Su Jian recalled that health is one of the top priorities of cooperation between the two countries and stressed that “these apartments will provide more comfortable accommodation for health personnel”.
At the same ceremony was recognized the role Chinese doctors who had just completed their mission in the country. Thus, a protocol was signed for an additional team of Chinese doctors to the country.
