Rain destroys bridge, leaving Mutarara isolated

Road connections between the district of Mutarara and the rest of Tete have been severed by the collapse of a bridge over the Macalanga River, following heavy rain in the province.
In addition to the collapse of the bridge, the National Road Administration in Tete says that rising groundwater is now affecting the road between the villages of Munda and Sindjal, compromising access in Doa district.
