Sars customs officials and detector dogs intercepted 22 800 Viagra tablets, valued at R2.28 million at the OR Tambo International Airport, the South African Revenue Services (Sars) said on Wednesday.
Sars said that during random inspection on Tuesday, the dogs found the parcel behind a cargo shed between other consignments originating from Hong Kong.
“An examination confirmed that the tablets were Viagra. The parcel remains unclaimed, and has been handed to the Port Health Authority for further investigation.”
