Quelimane Municipal Council on Thursday (20-05) morning evicted families who had lived in houses belonging to the municipality for more than 45 years.
Diário da Zambézia witnessed operations, as several families were thrown out in the open.
Tenants said they had received notice to leave their homes, but had never taken them seriously, and had nowhere to go.
Some of the occupants were not even employees of Quelimane municipality, reads the Diário da Zambézia report.
