Residents of Block 1 in the Maputo’s Mafalala neighbourhood are accusing the neighbourhood secretary of real estate sales scheming, triggered by a recent lawsuit that barred a resident from access to his own home.
The video shows how Jorge Matsinhe enters and leaves the house where he was born, after the neighbourhood secretary had the gate closed.
He believes the ‘secretário de bairro’ wants to sell the house.
The neighbours deplore the whole situation.
According to Jorge Matsinhe, the matter was even brought before APIE (State Real Estate Administration Office ), where he would have been advised to pay off the debt he had with the institution which he did. But the ‘secretário’ did not give in.
The secretary of the neighbourhood acknowledges to having sealed the gate. Says he did so due to the fact that Matsinhe gave to rent a state-owned house and says the matter is being handled by the APIE.
The secretary of the neighbourhood also acknowledges receiving from Matsinhe the receipt of the payment of the debt to APIE; he has attached it to the letter he wrote to APIE. In the presentation of the matter, to which Miramar Tv had access to, the secretary of the neighbourhood not only questions the veracity of the receipt but also “induces the APIE not to give a favourable outcome” to the matter.
