Mozambique: Customs officer arrested for corruption in Beira

A gang who were selling drugs to students in Maputo’s Liberdade neighbourhood has been broken up in a police operation called “Mbanguine”.
The individuals, aged between 37 and 53 years of age, are in custody at the 4th precinct police station. The traffickers were selling drugs to students of primary and secondary schools nearby.
Operation Mbanguine has been successfully targeting drug dealers in various neighbourhoods across Maputo province, netting nearly 250 kilograms of drugs in the process.
According to PRM spokesman Emidio Mabunda, cannabis sativa, AX and other injectable drugs were among those seized by the police during the operation.
