Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi has promulgated revisions to the local legislative package, setting the stage for local elections on Oct. 10, a statement from the presidency says today.
Filipe Nyusi promulgated the amendments to the Law establishing the Legal Framework for the Implantation of Local Authorities and the Law on the Election of Holders of Local Authorities.
The amendments to the two legal instruments were approved in July by the Assembly of the Republic, creating the conditions for the holding of municipal elections on October 10.
In the same press release, the Presidency of the Republic says that Filipe Nyusi approved the Law that establishes the Legal Regime for Repression and Combating Terrorism and Related Actions.
