The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, has sent a message of condolences to Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida, following the death of former prime minister, Shinzo Abbe, after an attack at a rally in Nara City.” It was with deep sadness that we have learned of the assassination of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abbe, which took place on the 8th of this month,” reads the message
In his message, President Filipe Nyusi, said that former prime minister Shinzo Abbe would always be remembered as a good friend of the people and government of the Republic of Mozambique.
“Having met with him on several occasions, we forged very cordial personal relationships that boosted the socio-economic development of our country, even in difficult times when we faced adversities of various natures,” the note sent by the Press Office of the President of the Republic reads.
In his message, the head of state expresses his readiness to continue working closely with the Prime Minister of Japan, to further strengthen cooperation and partnership for the mutual benefit of both countries and peoples.
“At this tragic moment, on behalf of the people, the Government of the Republic of Mozambique and myself, I would like to convey our deepest condolences to the people and Government of Japan. Please convey our feelings of solidarity to the bereaved family of the former Prime Minister,” the message from the President of the Republic reads.
