On Monday, the Standing Commission of the Assembly of the Republic authorised the State visit of the President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, to the Kingdom of eSwatini from 6 to 9 August, at the invitation of his counterpart.
The spokesman for the Standing Commission, Mateus Katupa, said that the President of the Republic, in making the application for authorisation, for a state visit to the Kingdom of eSwatini, complied with the legal procedures.
The Standing Commission had to resort to a vote to take the decision on the request of the Head of State.
Katupa explained that there was divergence of opinion from the benches, Renamo opposed, Frelimo and MDM voted in favour of the President’s visit.
