President Nyusi is in Beira city, at the start of a two-day working visit to Sofala province.
The head of the state will visit areas affected by the floods in Beira to learn about residents’ current situation and ongoing mitigation measures.
Also in Beira, the president will inaugurate the Inhamízua Water Distributor Center, financed by the Mozambican government and the World Bank as part of the Water Supply and Institutional Support Project (WASIS) as part of a programme of investments for the improvement and expansion of the city water supply system.
The president is accompanied by the Minister of Public Works, Housing and Water Resources, Carlos Bonete Martinho, along with staff of the Presidency and other state institutions.
