Mozambique: President calls for the end of killings during political clashes

President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi has sent a message of condolence to his South African counterpart, Cyril Ramaphosa, on the death of Winnie Mandela.
In his message, the head of state says that Winnie Madikezela-Mandela dedicated her youth and intelligence to the cause of the liberation of the South African people and country from an oppressive regime of racial segregation.
“Winnie Madikezela-Mandela gave her youth and intelligence to the cause of the liberation of the people and the South African homeland from the oppressive regime and racial segregation, apartheid. Her achievements will endure as a reference and inspire the new generation of South African and African leaders to preserve the values of freedom and equality.”
“As we mourn the death of this fearless anti-apartheid combatant, I would like to express our deepest condolences to you, Mr. President, and to the People and Government of the Republic of South Africa and through you, to the bereaved families, Mandela and Madikezela,” the president’s message reads.
