Artists shout 'enough' to post-election violence in Mozambique - Photos

Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi yesterday named João Leopoldo da Costa, former chairman of the National Electoral Commission (CNE), Deputy Minister of Health, and Helena Mateus Kida, a judicial magistrate, Deputy Minister of the Interior, the presidency has announced.
João Leopoldo da Costa was president of the CNE between 2007 and 2013 and has previously been the rector of the Higher Institute of Science and Technology of Mozambique.
Helena Mateus Kida is a judicial magistrate and worked as a judge of criminal instruction in Maputo Provincial Court prior to her appointment.
The post of Deputy Minister of Health has been vacant since June, when the previous incumbent, Mouzinho Saíde, became director general of Maputo Central Hospital, while the Ministry of Interior has had no deputy minister since January, when Jose dos Santos Coimbra left office.
