President Nyusi joins Eid al-Adha celebration in Maganja da Costa, Mozambique

President Filipe Nyusi today participates in a ceremony celebrating the Muslim Eid al-Adha in the Maganja da Costa in Zambézia province, Jornl Txopela reports .
Eid al-Adha is a festival of sacrifice that takes place at the end of the pilgrimage in Mecca, and solemnities will feature members of the local Muslim community.
Frelimo congratulates Muslim Community
In a statement, cited by Notícias, Frelimo praises the contribution of the Muslim community to the harmonious development of Mozambique, emphasising the economic, political, social, cultural and preservation of peace aspects, and therefore joins itself to the celebrations of the festival.
For Frelimo, the achievements of the Muslim community are visible in the many industrial and commercial enterprises which mark the resuscitation of the national economy.
Workers day off
The Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Security, Vitoria Diogo, has granted September 1 a special day off [tolerância de ponto] to all workers who profess the Muslim faith on the occasion of the celebration of Eid al-Adha.
