The Mozambican president, Filipe Nyusi, is today attending the Southern African Development Community (SADC) double troika summit in Gaborone, Botswana, a statement from the presidency reports.
On his trip to Botswana, in his capacity as Chairperson of the SADC Politics, Defence and Security Cooperation committee, President Nyusi will be accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Oldemiro Baloi, and senior officials.
The summit will address the political situation of the SADC countries and evaluate the implementation of the previous session’s decisions, particularly with regard to the political crisis in Lesotho.
The SADC double troika comprises Botswana, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Mozambique, South Africa, and Tanzania.
