President Nyusi will personally oversee the delivery of 200 new public transport buses at the Zimpeto National Stadium in Maputo today.
The buses will be allocated to all provincial capitals and other cities in the country as part of the government’s actions aimed at strengthening the supply of urban public transport.
This latest batch brings to 500 the number of buses purchased by the government to bolster urban public transport, and a statement from the Ministry of Transport and Communications indicates that, by 2019, the government will have bought 1,000 buses to meet demand for public passenger services in the country.
