The president of Frelimo and of the Republic of Mozambique, Comrade Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, expressed satisfaction regarding the vitality of the party in the province of Zambézia, stemming from the union and cohesion that prevails among members there.
The third extraordinary session of the Provincial Committee Secretariat, extended to other staff, held on Monday (18-04), marked the end of Nyusi’s tour of all 11 provinces.
President Nyusi said that Frelimo was stronger, more proactive and increasingly more identified with its origins, the masses, and that this exercise had facilitated a set of lessons that would help the party to continue to grow and to prepare for the next challenges, namely the 12th Congress, the 2023 Municipal Elections and the 2024 General Elections.
For Nyusi, the greatest gains from his contact with the bases were the strengthening of union and cohesion, consolidation of working methods, and the strengthening of national unity and peace as structuring principles of identity and community of destiny.
Staff present at the meeting highlighted among the merits of his governance that President Nyusi had managed to awaken in Mozambicans the ability to overcome themselves even in contexts of adversity, such as the Covid-19 pandemic, natural disasters and terrorism.
They underlined that, despite the typical challenges of developing countries, the last few years had been full of event, with the emphasis on the country’s pacification process and the gradual return to state budget support, thanks to the right vision, optimism and constant presence of President Nyusi, typical characteristics of a figure with a high sense of state and of serving the nation.
They also recognised the president’s greatness and determination in all spheres of life in the country, with the emphasis on the gains made in the fight against hunger through programs such as Sustenta.
