President Nyusi congratulates Nguyen Phu Trong on his election as Vietnam’s president

President Nyusi has sent a congratulatory message to the President-elect of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, His Excellency Nguyen Phú Trong, the Mozambican presidency has announced on its official webpage.
On Tuesday, Vietnam’s national assembly elected General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong as the country’s president.
In his message, the Mozambican head of state says that he firmly believes that the excellent historical relations of friendship and cooperation between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Republic of Mozambique will be further strengthened under the leadership of President Nguyen Phu Trong.
“Likewise, I wish Your Excellency many successes in the exercise of your noble functions in the highest magistracy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the leadership of your compatriots towards greater prosperity,” President Nyusi’s message reads.
“On behalf of the people, the Government of the Republic of Mozambique and the President of the Republic, the message congratulates His Excellency, Mr President, on his appointment, which is a clear indication of the confidence the Vietnamese people have in President Nguyen Phú Trong.”
