Mozambique: Quelimane mayor intervenes in Renamo dispute

President Filipe Nyusi has promoted seven officials to the rank of First Deputy of the Commissioner of Migration, a patent granted by the National Migration Service (SENAMI), which is a public paramilitary institution within the Ministry of the Interior (MINT) .
They are Ana Sengo de Abreu, Armando Fietines, Francisco Mambuque, José Chirombo, Maria Siguate, Panache Momade and Paulino Nhamuende.
A presidency press release sent to AIM yesterday explains that President Nyusi decided to use the powers conferred upon him in pursuit of the proposal of Minister of the Interior, Basílio Monteiro, and the National Defence and Security Council.
The head of state also ordered the passage to the reserve of Ana Sengo de Abreu, Francisco Mambuque and Panache Momade, the latter of the Department of Legal Affairs at MINT.
There are a total of 14 degrees patent in SENAMI, of which Armando Fietines is the current director-general. Chief Commissioner of Migration is the highest, followed by Commissioner of Migration and First Deputy of the Commissioner. Migration guard is the lowest.
