Governor of Cabo Delgado, Valige Tauabo, on Saturday (10-12) officially opened the recently built 1.1 kilometre road between Vila de Palma’s Praça 25 de Setembro and the fish market.
The road, which will facilitate the movement of people and goods between the upper and lower parts of Vila de Palma. received financial support from TotalEnergies.
Governor Valige Tauabo revealed that support from TotalEnergies had in sum officially given the district of Palma the nine-kilometre lR762 Crossing-Quiwia section, the 12-kilometre Manguna-Pundanhar section, and a nine-kilometre Mondlane-Olumbe road.
These roads will allow producers to access markets, a fundamental factor for the promotion of development, Governor Tauabo pointed out.
For his part, TotalEnergies country manager for Mozambique, Maxime Rabilloud, underlined the multinational’s intent to provide more support to the district in a bid to accelerate development.
For João Buchili, Palma district administrator, the construction and rehabilitation of the roads represents a relief, because the routes had been in need of large-scale interventions for a long time, and would now leverage economic activity in the district.
