Post-election violence has led to a fuel shortage in Maputo City.
Alexandre Muianga, the Councilor for Economic Activities and Tourism at the Maputo Municipal Council, stated that there is fear of vandalism against trucks transporting fuel to sales terminals.
“The fuel stations were invaded, particularly key areas, in terms of looting. So, there is still skepticism about fully reopening some stations. Even regarding fuel purchases, we’ve seen trucks being set on fire. Everything will return to normal, but very cautiously,” he said.
