Doctors, nurses, and support staff at Nampula Central Hospital are struggling to reach their workplaces due to road blockades.
The situation has prevented shift changes, leading to fatigue among the on-duty staff, who sometimes work for over 24 hours.
The director of Nampula Central Hospital, Cachimo Mulina, warned that if the situation persists, the hospital will not have the capacity to care for patients.
“The staff required to cover everything is decreasing because, for example, yesterday, throughout the day, some people were stuck at home and found it very difficult to get to the hospital,” he said.
