Several vehicles are parked at the Junta interprovincial transport terminal due to ongoing protests in recent days. Jossias Tsenane, a member of the Interprovincial Transport Association, stated that no trips have been made for four days due to safety concerns.
The protests also affected the Junta interprovincial terminal, where protesters stole the gate and vandalized the terminal cabin, the usual location for ticket sales. Jossias Matsena, another member of the Interprovincial Transport Association, told O País that no trips have been made for four days out of concern for the safety of passengers, drivers, and their assistants.
“Our members are afraid to take their vehicles to other provinces,” said Tsenane, adding that today is the first time a vehicle has departed for Inhambane Province, though trips to central and northern regions remain unauthorized.
According to Tsenane, the situation has caused significant losses, as many members rely on credit and must make payments at the end of the month.
