Portugal confirmed this Monday that the country will send military personnel to Mozambique to train the country’s security forces.
According to Foreign Affairs Minister Augusto Santos Silva, Portugal has been working very “closely” with the Mozambican government to “increase cooperation”.
In this sense, the defense ministers of both countries decided to set in motion “a mission to support the training of special Mozambican forces” by the Portuguese Armed Forces.
For the time being, approximately 60 Portuguese military officials will be sent to train Mozambican military personnel in order to increase their capacities to respond to terrorists and to defend the population..
