President Filipe Nysui said on Wednesday that Portugal must be the gateway of all Africa to the European market, stressing that he had brought Lisbon the largest business entourage ever.
“We want Portugal to be the gateway for Mozambique to the European market, but it is necessary to consolidate it to be for the whole of Africa,” said the Head of State at the opening of the Economic Partnership for Development Forum, which takes place on Wednesday in Lisbon.
“There is no policy or economy without a robust and committed business class, the delegation I brought with entrepreneurs was the largest of all time, there are about 70 entrepreneurs,” Nyusi said, adding that although the diplomacy between the two countries is excellent, “no one eats diplomacy,” so it is necessary to “feed diplomacy with the growth of economies” and more business to improve the quality of life of the peoples of both countries.
On the agenda, it was initially scheduled that the two rulers would only speak in the inaugural session, but they both ended up staying and answering questions on the Mozambican economy.
