Thousands of immigrants in Portugal who have a residence permit for those arriving from the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries feared that the end of their authorization was near. In fact, the end of the CPLP title was even reported in some countries.
However, to Correio da Manhã, the Agency for Integration, Migrations and Asylum (AIMA) guarantees that the end of this authorization is not expected.
“AIMA has no indication that CPLP residence permits will end,” says the agency. Everything indicates that the rumors were the result of “the extrapolation of the deadline of «until June 30, 2024», included in Decree-Law no. 10-A/2020, of March 13, in its current wording”.
