Ponta do Ouro hosts third cultural festival – Mozambique

The village of Ponta do Ouro in Zitundo administrative post, Matutuíne district, Maputo province, is currently hosting the third Ponta D’Ouro Festival, which aims to bring together artists and tourists for cultural interaction with the local population.

The festival encompasses health, food and crafts stalls and events, sales of books and records, sporting events and performances by musical groups, with renowned artists Roberto Chitsondzo, Bob Lee, Oliver Style and H20 making guest appearances this year.

Local traditional leader Jaime Tembe opened proceedings on Thursday 22 September by evoking the ancestors to bless the event.
