Police kill four alleged kidnappers in Maputo – Mozambique

The Police of the Republic of Mozambique (PRM) killed four men at Rua dos Desportistas in downtown Maputo. The men allegedly intended to kidnap two businessmen
The information was released by the spokesman to Maputo PRM Orlando Mudumane, who said in a statement that seven men were following the owners of the Sasseka warehouses, identified only by Amin and Mamud.
“The PRM had been following the group and today (Wednesday, December 28), as they were being monitored, the men, realizing police presence, opened fire against the members of PRM and, during the shootout, four of the seven criminals lost their lives and three have fled,” reads the note, indicating that they used two vehicles.
Police say they have seized four weapons, two AKM and two pistols, one of which was a toy pistol.
Without further details, the statement reveals that police continues to pursue the three elements of the group that are still at large.
