Police foil attempt to kidnap 4-year-old albino in Zambezia

Five individuals have arrested by the police in Milange district, Zambezia province, on charges of planning to abduct a 4-year old albino boy. The case occurred in Chitambo locality, where it is presumed the child was to be sold.
According to police, one of the five suspects was accused by neighbours of the victim’s family of having cut off some of the child’s hair while his mother was absent.
All five defendants have denied involvement, but police believe that the hair found at the home of one of the defendants is evidence that the child was about to be kidnapped, and claim that one of the five went to Malawi with some of the child’s hair to meet a prospective buyer.
