Mozambique: Fishermen detained in Ancuabe for alleged involvement in terrorism - AIM
The Mozambican police on Monday announced that they have dismantled three drugs gangs and seized two kilogrammes of cannabis and three kilogrammes of cocaine during operations in the capital city of Maputo over the previous week.
Speaking during his weekly press conference, Maputo city police spokesperson Orlando Mudumane added that the gangs had been operating in the neighbourhoods of Mavalane, Mafalala, and Polana.
In addition, the police arrested 71 people for various crimes and registered 15 robberies.
During the week, the police recorded 15 road accidents caused mainly by excessive speed, overtaking, and driving whilst under the influence of alcohol. Five people have been arrested for accidents caused by drunk driving, and two arrested for hit and run incidents.
