Mozambique: Road Fund owes 4.3 million dollars to contractors in Niassa - Watch

The Entreposto Group has appointed former prime minister Aires Ali to head up its new board of directors. Ali will take over at Companhia de Mozambique, the holding which brings together all the group’s companies in the country.
Aires Ali holds a degree in Psychology and began his political career as governor of Niassa province. He was subsequently appointed governor of Inhambane province and also served as minister of Education and Culture before becoming prime minister of Mozambique from 2010 to 2012.
Through this appointment, Aires Ali will chair a board of directors, that also includes Nuno Sousa (vice-president), José Cardoso, Pedro Palhinha and Luis Pedro Reis, with executive management powers delegated to Sousa and Cardoso.
The Entreposto group, which started in Beira over 80 years ago, is recognized as one of the major business groups in Mozambique.
Over the past 10 years, it has diversified into information technology, automobiles and machinery, car rental, forestry, real estate and services. Awarded with the prestigious ‘Made in Mozambique’ stamp, the group has more than 1,400 employees, distributed across almost all provinces.
A press release says that the new board of directors “will continue the strategic orientation of sustained growth for the group, prepare for future challenges in various areas of business and monitor and contribute to the growth and development of Mozambique”.
