Petromoc says it has enough domestic gas to satisfy demand, and the company’s director of operations at the Matola Ocean Terminal says unsatisfied demand [shortage], particularly in the country’s capital and in Matola, results from the weak transportation capacity from the source to the resale points.
Petromoc maximum storage capacity is 410,000 cubic meters, and which the company was using only 40 to 50 percent. Petromoc was therefore able to guarantee that reserves were sufficient to supply the market.
“We have enough gas stored to supply the market. Gas consumption has increased in recent times, probably because of price,” Petromoc’s chief operating officer Vicente Fringe says.
The Petromoc Ocean Terminal at Matola receives a variety of fuels, including gasoline, diesel, domestic gas and aviation fuel, which arrives on ships. From there, Petromoc distributes it to petrol stations in the south of the country.
On Tuesday, the Matola administrator visited the Petromoc plant in Matola.
