Persons unknown yesterday severed the head and genitals of a man in Maputo’s George Dimitrov neighbourhood, popularly known as Benfica, leaving the mutilated body to be discovered by the public this Wednesday morning.
It is assumed that the citizen was killed elsewhere, with witnesses reporting that the man’s body had been dragged at least fifty meters.
Members of the public say that crime has risen to alarming proportions in the neighbourhood, and have been asking for greater police presence.
