Mozambique: INAM predicts a moderate tropical storm in the country

A passenger vehicle caught fire while in motion and was reduced to ashes in the district of Marracuene, Maputo province, in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
The incident took place on National Highway Number 1 near the Michafutene cemetery in Magoanine. No casualties have been reported.
The 40-seater bus had departed from the district of Manhiça for the Zimpeto Wholesale Market, and caught fire a few kilometres from its destination.
According to witnesses, the fire that consumed the bus originated in the rear wheels.
The fire department was not made aware of the incident in time to extinguish the fire, and the bus was reduced to ashes.
There were no human casualties, but there is information that a passenger who suffered minor injuries jumping off the bus was transferred to José Macamo General Hospital.
The burnt-out vehicle now urgently needs to be removed, to avoid further accidents at the location.
