Data shared by our correspondents in all districts of Nampula province indicate that there are some polling stations, especially in the urban area, where Podemos candidate Venâncio Mondlane is beating Ossufo Momade, but is on par with Daniel Chapo.
In Ilha de Moçambique, Nacala, Nacarôa, Mogovolas, Angoche, Moma, Malema and Ribáuè the results reaching us suggest a victory for Frelimo and Chapo, but in the city of Nampula, the ‘cement area’ has been hotly contested.
According to our information, counting at some polling stations was still underway at 10:00 a.m. this Thursday (10-10).
This trend makes it clear that Chapo could be the next president of Mozambique, and Eduardo Mariamo Abdula (“Uncle Salim”) governor of the country’s largest electoral district.
