The third ordinary session of the Assembly of the Republic, IX Legislature, is scheduled to start on February 25 and continue until next May 13, spokesman of the Permanent Commission, Alberto Mutukutuko, announced today.
In this session, several matters will be discussed, analysed and approved. At the moment, 26 have already been listed, with the emphasis on “information from the government, questions to the government, and the General State Account of 2019”.
Also included are the annual report of the Attorney General, “the Draft Law on the Statute for Officials and Parliamentary Agents, the Draft Law on Social Communication and the Draft Law on Broadcasting,” Mutukutuko announced.
Among its other functions, the Standing Commission coordinates the activities of the Assembly of the Republic plenary, its commissions, parliamentary offices, national parliamentary groups and friendship leagues.
At this Tuesday’s meeting, Standing Commission members decided that, after the opening of the third ordinary session of the “House of the People”, plenary sessions would only take place from the 10th of March.
The time gap aims to allow parliament’s specialised committees to prepare opinions on matters to be considered beginning on the 25th of this month.
