Over ten thousand children attending primary schools in the district of Marracuene, in the southern province of Maputo, have received educational equipment collected by the company FERPINTA.
The main beneficiaries are five thousand children attending the Guava Primary School (EPC), with material also being given to Habel Jafar EPC, Zintava EPC, Mateque EPC, and Singantela EPC.
The equipment was collected earlier this year in Portugal by the FERPINTA workforce and transported to Mozambique with the support of Turkish Airlines and the Sporting Clube de Portugal Foundation. It was handed over at a ceremony on Wednesday attended by the governor of Maputo province, Raimundo Diomba. He was joined by other officials and both local and Portuguese representatives of the company.
The local subsidiary of FERPINTA states that education is one of the pillars of the nation’s development and that the donation aims to offer better conditions for Mozambican children and encourage them on the road to academic success.
The subsidiary produces pipes, steel sheets and agricultural machinery. It is based in the central city of Beira with branches in Maputo and Nacala.
