‘OPERA.Li – Ritorno al Futuro’ in Maputo tonight – Don’t miss it!

The Mozambique Classic Cycle (MCC), in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Mozambique, today presents ‘OPERA.Li – Ritorno al Futuro’ at the Eduardo Mondlane University Cultural Centre in Maputo.
This is the second of two concerts presented in Maputo as part of the celebrations of 19th World Italian Language Week, and starts at 7:00 p.m..
A cast of musicians from Mozambique, South Africa, Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States and Italy will perform extracts from Italian operas by Donizetti, Rossini and Verdi, a press release from the organisation reads.
The first concert of the series – held on October 22, also in the UEM Cultural Centre – presented works by Beggio, Chopin, Berio, Glass, Luzi and Puccini in a programme entitled ‘MUSICA&POESIA.Li’, with the same cast.
The Mozambique Classical Cycle (MCC) is a series of classical music concerts, initiated by singers Stella Mendonça and Sónia Mocumbi, which presents different programmes at every concert and features internationally renowned artists, with the aim of sharing educational aspects of classical music.
