One person died early on Sunday morning after being shot by police during the pursuit of alleged robbers in Zambézia, central Mozambique, a source from the corporation announced on Tuesday.
The incident took place in the district of Gurué, after the man was mistaken for one of the robbers, Radio Mozambique quotes police spokesman Sidner Lonzo as saying.
The victim owned the residence which had been robbed, and was returning from work, local press reported.
The police spokesman said that an investigation aimed at clarifying the incident was underway.
