One dead, three injured in Maputo car crash

One person died and three other were seriously injured in a head-on collision between two cars, registered on Sunday morning near the Portuguese School, in Maputo.
The cars, a Mercedes and a Toyota Prado, were travelling in opposite directions, one on the Av. Julius Nyerere-Marginal route and the other on the old Fish Market to Private Hospital.
They collided on a bend, seemingly as a result of travelling at too high a speed. The Mercedes burst into flames after the collision and the fire was put out by people who rushed to the scene.
The injured, whose identities have not yet been released, were taken to Maputo Central Hospital, where they are still under medical care.
