Mozambican international boxer, Alcinda Panguana, will be competing against China’s Liu Chang in the Olympic Games boxing tournament Round of 16 in the French capital tonight.
It’s a big challenge for the Mozambican, who will face the 66 kg world champion, one of the favourites for Olympic gold.
In her preview of the clash, Alcinda promised to give everything in the ring and emerge victorious again after Sunday’s emphatic 5-0 win over Slovakia’s Jessica Triebelova.
In her second appearance at the Olympic Games (after Tokyo 2020), the Mozambican boxer is looking for her first medal in this global competition, and to do so she needs to win today as well as in the quarter-finals.
Tiago Muxanga was eliminated in the Round of 16 (71 kg division) last night, after losing 3-2 to Mexico’s Marco Verde.
It was an intense fight in the first Olympics for the 23-year-old Mozambican international, with the Mozambican coming out on top in the second of the three rounds, according to ‘Notícias’.
