Speaking recently on the margins of President Filipe Nyusi’s traditional end-of-year reception, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Co-operation Oldemiro Baloi said that “there must be art and ingenuity to transform our political will into achievements”.

Balói characterized the year about to end as “complicated”, explaining that the first misfortune was the flooding that affected more than 144,000 people and devastated more than 13,000 homes. To this was soon added the depreciation of the metical, which is affecting the festive season of all Mozambicans.
