Mozambique Prime Minister calls for strong focus on teacher training

“We have lost a distinguished leader,” is how Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Verónica Macamo reacted to the death of former holder of her portfolio, Oldemiro Julio Marques Baloi, who died on Wednesday.
In addition to expressing her feelings of grief, Minister Macamo characterized the diplomat as “a Mozambican leader who, since national independence, actively participated in building the Mozambican nation”.
Her communique states that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation is, in coordination with the family, preparing the transfer of the body of the deceased from South Africa to Maputo, and arranging the funeral rites, to take place on a date to be announced in due course.
The former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation died on Wednesday, April 14, in South Africa.
