Officer arrested for raping minor inside Bilene police command

A police officer has raped a minor inside the village of Bilene’s police station in Gaza province, southern Mozambique, the institution said today.
Police spokesman Cláudio Massingue told public radio station Radio Mozambique that the officer was in custody after dragging a girl into the district headquarters police command and raping her.
“He is accused of the rape of a minor and must respond for his actions, dragging a victim by force into the police command,” Massingue said without offering further details.
In a similar case, a military deserter is being sought for raping and killing a minor in Nampula province, northern Mozambique.
