Mozambique: Prime Minister heads to China for Global Leaders’ Meeting on Women in Beijing
The Mozambican parliament’s Standing Committee on Monday authorized a state visit of President Filipe Nyusi to China from 16 to 21 May, but details of the visit are sketchy.
According to Canalmoz, “no one knows for sure what Nyusi will do in China”.
Speaking at the end of the Standing Committee meeting, the head of the Democratic Movement of Mozambique (MDM) benches Lutero Simango said that the Nyusi’s visit to China should not be used to incur more debt.
“The authorization should not be a blank cheque for contracting more debt,” he said.
