Mozambique Elections: Crowd burns down police post in Chalaua, Nampula province - AIM report

The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, has dismissed Timóteo Bernardo from the position of Deputy Commander-General of the Police of the Republic of Mozambique (PRM) and, in his place, appointed Fernando Francisco Tsucana, who previously held the position of Deputy-Rector of the Academy of Police Sciences (ACIPOL), after having promoted Tsucana to the rank of Commissioner of the PRM, in the rank of General Officers, of Deputy Commissioner of Police.
President Nyusi has promoted Brigadier Eugénio Augusto Roque (former Chief of Staff of the Casa Militar – Presidential Guard) to the rank of Major General, and appointed him head of the Casa Militar, replacing Tiago Alberto Nampele. In Mozambique, the sitting president is protected by the Presidential Guard (Casa Militar da Presidência da República).
Tiago Alberto Nampele will henceforth assume the functions of Commander of the Army Branch [Mozambique Armed Defence Forces, FADM] .
In the Mozambican Civic Service, the President of the Republic appointed Ezequiel Isac Muianga to the position of commander of that organ, replacing Messias André Niposso.
In the field of promotions, Nyusi promoted Colonels Estêvão Francisco, Ricardo Armando Eugénio Macuvele , Omar Nalá Saranga, Francisco Maurício Assane, and Leonardo da Graça Dimas to the ranks of Brigadiers, and Navy Captain Bernardo Estêvão Nchokomala to the post of Commodore.
