Mozambique: Promotion of opportunities for women remains top priority – Chapo

President Filipe Nyusi demands a resounding reaction from the Defence and Security Forces to end the insecurity in some of Cabo Delgado districts , ‘O País’ online reports. The Commander-in-Chief of the Defence and Security Forces was speaking in Matalane today during the closing ceremony of an extraordinary special agents’ course.
In a context where the incidence of attacks on some districts of Cabo Delgado is increasing, the Mozambican state has extraordinarily formed a contingent of special forces and reserve forces in less than three months.
In the presence of the Commander in Chief of the Defence and Security Forces, more than 2,000 graduates stood in the parade.
In his speech, Filipe Nyusi said that the Defence and Security Forces must act in an integrated and intelligent way to stop the attacks in Cabo Delgado.
Nyusi drew attention to the change of the insurgents’ modus operandi in their incursions. And because there were recent attacks on interests linked to Anadarko, the Head of State demanded security guarantees of the forces to ventures in that province.
At the end of his address and without further details, the President of the Republic announced for this week progress in the pacification process of the country.
It should be noted that in this course, agents have been trained in the specialities of Rapid Intervention Unit, Maritime Lake and Fluvial Police of the Branch of Border Police, Protection Force of High-Ranking Individuals and Protection Force of the Environment and Natural Resources.
